18th edition of the National Book Fair to kickstart in Lucknow on October 1on Sep 30, 2021 Bibliophiles in Lucknow are in luck for the National Book Fair is all set to make a comeback on Friday. Slated for a start on October 1, the 18th edition of the city's mega literary fair at the Moti Mahal Lawns will extend over a period of 10 days. Based on the theme of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava', this book festival will concoct a confluence of literature lovers arraying a wide range of fiction, fantasy, non-fiction, and many more reads! This book fair is being brought to you by the collaborative efforts of K.T.Foundation and Force one Advertising & Events Pvt Ltd. While the activities were stalled during the course of the pandemic, the improved circumstances prompted the authorities to conduct this event now. It has been informed that the fair will be inaugurated by the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh at 5 PM on Friday. As per the co-organizer Astha Dhall, the visitors will get free entry into this fair and they will be able to avail a minimum discount of 10% on purchases. Further, the conveners are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety and security of the patrons. While a 'No Mask No Entry' policy will be followed, the venue will have separate registration counters, sanitization kiosks, and all stated SOPs will be adhered to. Amid a wide range of publications that can be expected at the upcoming fair, Rajkamal, Lokbharti Prakashan, Vani Prakashan, Central Hindi Directorate, Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan, Samyak Prakashan, National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language are some of the notable names. Besides, it is noteworthy that local authors will get an opportunity to display their books for free. According to another authority, the book fair will aggregate a string of other interesting events such as book release, 'meet the writer', Kavi Sammelan, mushaira. In addition to this, singing, dancing, drawing, slogan writing, and story writing competitions will be organized for children both virtually and physically. Further, kids will also get to enjoy the magic and puppet shows and an extensive food zone is also being created. Additionally, patron Shri Rakesh Jain informed that the upcoming event is being supported by Lucknow Smart City, Lucknow Municipal Corporation, and Police Commisionerate Lucknow. They will also showcase their achievements, including the various development schemes and welfare projects. Further, exhibits related to the Women's Helpline and pink booths will also be staged for the visitors.
